Kim Parrent's Mexican Luchadores Collection


This is a special collection from Canadian artist Kim Parrent who is deeply passionate about Mexican Legends of Lucha Libre. 

Kim Parrent is a born and raised Calgarian but have lived in Houston, Texas and Majorca, Spain. She is a graduate of The University of Calgary with a BA in Fine Art(Art History). As an intern for The Glenbow Museum she helped to catalogue a large collection of art work bequeathed by Canadian artist Sybil Andrews. She has also worked as a scenic painter in the Alberta film industry. In 2016, she was involved in a large city project - painting graphics in the new National Music Centre in the East Village(Studio Bell). In 2017, Kim was selected to do six banners for The City of Calgary – “This is my Neighbourhood” initiative and all six banners hang in Garrison Green in the south west adjacent to the new ATCO complex. She has been an artist all her life and has always drawn and painted for as long as she can remember. Kim  has owned her own business for 15 years and have been commissioned to do art and murals. A mural of her exists in one of the privately owned hangars at The Spring Bank Airport. She teaches art to both children and adults in a private studio. Kim has always been involved with art and now volunteer with Contemporary Calgary and share in their vision of bringing a Contemporary Art Museum to Calgary.
