About the Speakers
MIGUEL CORTINES
Miguel is a visionary, an entrepreneur and a community leader. He holds a Business Degree in Accounting, with honorific mention, and a Master’s Degree in Administration of Organizations.
Miguel is the President of Innova International Corporation, a Canadian company focused on the identification and management of innovative technological projects and commercial opportunities related to the Canada-Mexico relationship. Miguel is also Director of the Board with the Canadian Council for the Americas Alberta, an organization that facilitates networking opportunities and business links between Canada and the Americas.
Miguel Cortines is also the Founder and President of Casa Mexico Foundation, a non-for-profit organization which organizes and supports relevant programs and activities to showcase the best of Mexico abroad and create more awareness and understanding of Mexico culture, Latin American heritage and Spanish language.
In previous professional endeavours, Miguel was the Senior Account Manager for the Global Petroleum Show, World Heavy Oil Congress and Heavy Oil Latin America, with dmg events, one of the largest international trade show and conference event management companies in the world. He also worked at the Mexican Minister of Foreign Affairs as the Director of Economic Affairs and Community Relations with the Consulate of Mexico in Calgary. In his early career, Miguel was a team member of Freyssinier Morin, an accounting and consulting firm, subsidiary of Ernst & Young in Mexico City.
Miguel's skills and consulting expertise include the areas of organizational management, strategic planning, international business, corporate engagement, government relations, community development and event planning. Miguel is fluent in English and Spanish.
JESSIE CEBALLOS
Jessie Ceballos is an Organizational Consultant, Mindful Leadership Specialist, Speaker, Master Coach of Life and Business. She is the founder of Jessie Ceballos Coaching and Consulting.
Jessie is graduated in Human Resources and Conflict Resolution Management by Mount Royal University. She has studies in Positive Psychology and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. She is Member of the Canadian Association of Positive Psychology.
Jessie Ceballos has more than 18 years of experience at diverse global corporations in the fields of human resources management, development of leaders based on the practice of mindfulness, and in the identification of evolution strategies in both personal and business aspects.
Jessie helps entrepreneurs to discover and align their life purposes with the vision and growth of their businesses. She focuses her work on the exponential development of individual capacities and alignment with the infinite possibilities of expansion and success, identifying the true power through the elevation of personal energy.
ADRIANA CERVANTES
Adriana is an energetic professional with a solid background in areas such as business development, public relations, human resources, marketing and sales.
Adriana has a wide breadth of experience working for established international companies, such as Danone, Pfizer and GE Capital, as well as experience working at the community level. She is a social media, content marketing and communications strategists. She helps clients uncover, create and amplify their personal branding through social media and professional development workshops.
Adriana is a regular speaker, moderator and participant at conferences on networking, mentorship, community building and the arts. She has served as liaison between senior management, organizational teams, sponsors, community partners, government institutions, media and clients. Currently, as Corporate Outreach Liaison at CCIS, she builds partnerships and assist internationally trained professionals to find employment opportunities by establishing and nurturing key connections within the business community.
In addition, she is the Event and Public Relations Manager for “ICAI” Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation. A non for-profit organization devoted to promoting and connecting immigrant artists with community partners and business community. Adriana is also the Public Relations specialist for “Unganisha” A dance theatre extravaganza which educates, promotes and connects dancers, performers, artists and public with Black History and African roots.
Her professional experience includes several years working in the education field. She uses these skills to volunteer with the Colombian Consulate, as well as other institutions, facilitating instructional ESL workshops to vulnerable minorities. During her career she has always taken great pride in demonstrating high level of professionalism, strong project management skills, first rate customer service and superior communications skills.
PATRICIA PEDRAZA
Patricia specializes in the area of mental health and well-being. She is the founder of Silver Health Inc. which offers individual and corporate services in the area of Clinical Psychology, & Individual Coaching. Her company also offers consulting services for organizations in the area of Inclusion and Training & Development.
Patricia has more than 18 years of experience working with Personal and Business development. She has a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Calgary, a Specialization in Education and is a Registered Provisional Psychologist at the Alberta College of Psychologists. She is also recognized for her work in the area of integration into a new culture and immigrant transitions.
Patricia is passionate about helping clients find their life vision in the personal and professional areas. Its practice is an integrative approach of the human being creating the balance of the mind, the body and the spiritual dimensions.
Currently, Patricia belongs to the AIT Advisory Immigrant Table with The City of Calgary and is a Mentor for the professional mentoring programs of CCIS and Center for Newcomers.
